Mike Lawler, MS, MFT-IT
My approach is warm, collaborative, active, and identity-affirming. I believe that self-awareness and meditation are powerful tools for personal and relational growth, and I aim to create a therapeutic space where people of all backgrounds feel valued and heard.
Before becoming a therapist, I had a career in the performing arts. That creative foundation continues to shape the way I connect with others. You can still see my set designs on Madison stages—staying creatively active is essential to me. Because of this, I have a particular interest in supporting fellow artists and makers in therapy.
As a longtime member of the Madison community, I’m deeply invested in the well-being of those around me. Whether you're hoping to strengthen a relationship, heal from past wounds, or move through a difficult chapter, I’m here to walk beside you—surefooted, confident, and compassionate.

Relationships are at the heart of my work. With a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College, I bring a systemic approach to mental health and healing. I use specialized training in the Gottman Method to help couples navigate challenges, rebuild trust, and deepen their connection.
I have experience working with teenagers facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and more. I create a space where young people feel safe, seen, and supported through the complexities of adolescence—whether their struggles stem from school, home, work, or social environments.
